We were told our room charges would be comped but that did not happen …staying at Mandalay rooms not the same as Delano ..the rooms are tired and old….

The hotel itself is lovely, but evidently there was some issue going on with a sewer leak and it was pervasive and nauseating. You could smell it everywhere but it was extremely intense in the lobby and throughout the reception areas. The second day it reached up to our room I felt nauseous so the concierge moved us which was extremely sweet and accommodating. But this was a much needed birthday getaway for me so was rather disappointing.

The Delano is a beautiful hotel with no smoking and no casinos. The staff there are incredibly helpful, friendly and available. The rooms are spacious suites. The beds are comfortable and the room itself provides comfort just by the size alone. The Delano has all that you need.

It’s definitely 2020.. nothing was smooth and effortless. It was nice and worked out but the night I got in the reservation for a stay well king suite was not available and was given a double queen. The room prides itself in the category of cleanliness and sanitation emphasizing on the organic healthy choices Stay Well represents. Finessing the room had sticky tables that looked like a drink was spilled and not cleaned up or wiped and the Brochere telling about the rooms features were stuck to the bedside table with food. Also not wiped. The next day I was promised a room a king room that is requested originally and I had to call and ask for it. twice! It was finally available in the evening and when I arrived to the room the traded for there was a housekeeping associate cleaning the couch. The room was clean and had an amazing view from the 35 th floor. I asked for an extra blanket at night and was brought promptly. But discovered the doorbell wasn’t working properly. The guy came to fix it randomly a day later. The towels were replaced daily and bed made. I appreciate room service. I had problems with the elevator several times one evening stopping at floor 30 and never opening the door or moving. Just stuck there although several times I tried the correct floor and it stopped anyways. I changed the elevator twice and got the same thing.. only one elevator worked going up to my floor, I realized on my own the hard way after freaking out that I was stuck in an elevator on the 30th flooor.. I slept well and although the restraints were few. the min bar including the coffee offer was a tremendously high charge. Don’t waste time or money on the room offered mini bar option. It offers two cups and two Kurdish pods with powdered cream and a couple sugar for $16 charged to your room. I realized the second day I could call room service for $30 and get a box of 32 oz of warm coffee. That includes a small coffee cake and a service charge. At this point in this game I just wanted my damn coffee.

"Strange smell in hallway and room; otherwise five stars."

The hotel is beautiful the suites are beautiful and the staff was great. However, we all smelled a distinctly unpleasant odor in the hallways and rooms almost like sewage. The housekeeping staff was okay I never got any coffee pods or water left in my room until the last night. I thought I had to bring my own coffee cup and supplies for the Keurig machine since none were provided. The housekeeping staff should have replaced the used soap every day but they just left the old soap in the holder without giving any new bars. Waitstaff in bars and restaurants was uniformly excellent except for the waitstaff in Della's Kitchen. Even though we told the waiter before we sat down that we wanted separate checks, he gave us one check for the 9 of us. The food took soooooooo long to be delivered and it took him way too long to get us our checks. That was the only "not great" experience, however, when just myself and one other person had breakfast there a few days later, the food came out quickly. Again, however, we had to flag down our waitress to get our check after we had been waiting more than 10 minutes for it (and we had to catch a flight) and the restaurant wasn't crowded. It's easy to get to the strip from this hotel even though it's not on the strip. We could walk through the Luxor or take a tram to Excaliber and then cross the street to get to New York, New York and MGM. It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds on the strip. If I came back, I would stay here again or at Mandalay Bay (which is connected to the Delano).
